Hi,
we have Proxmox Dell Server here with one Raid Hardware Controller (1GB HW Cache) and mostly 8 Std. HDDs (Near-SATA) only for Development. We are very satisfied with performance (virtio driver).
My admin collegue believes that if you use multiple Disks and multiple controllers inside a vm it can improve performance (he think he heard it from vmware) and it is better for backup. Is this correct? I think if you use real Hardware with multiple SCSI Controller and lots of Disks it will perform much better but inside a vm? Ok for Backup it might be better if you do not want to backup every Disk thats ok but performance?
Are there any experiances with that?
Thanks and best regards
