VM network rate limit

I have used rate limit function on network device setting of VM. But it seem to be no effect. I can't found documents about this. Someone can help me to explain, what i need to do to use this function.

I use proxmox VE 5.0.

I experience the same. Im using Openvswitch, i configured rate limit to 10, but nothing happened.

The rate limit is in MB/s, so 10 is then 10 MB/s. This limit sits on the tap device and should work irrespective of the bridge.

I highly doubt this. If I set rate limit to 60, I get 500 Mbps....

The rate is in MBps not Mbps. So if you write 60MBps it means 60*8=480Mbps

So if you need 60Mbps then you should set rate limit 7.5
I you need 10Mbps - write 1.2
