VM HardDrive NOT Restored from PBS

I’m using PVE 8.2.3 and PBD 3.2-7. I backup my VMs, do garbage collection and verify the backups weekly. I recently deleted a VM from PVE (including destruction of unreferenced disks). When I tried to restore the VM , it would not boot and I discovered that the VM disk was missing. Attached is a screen from PBS for the backups for VM 105.

You will see that the sizes of the backups are either 12GB or ~800B. Since this VM is usually not running, I assume the smaller backups are because of no changes from the previous backups. If I restore one of smaller backups, the VM hard drive is NOT restored. It is there if I restore one of larger backups. I am restoring to the location from backup configuration and the operation completes successfully.

I’m not sure how to explain this. Can anyone help?

seems disks was excluded from backups, show/compare config from two snapshots backups to check it.

edit: seems you loose 4 months of data.
in PBS all snapshots backups are full backups, PBS do deduplication during each backup = all data already existing in the PBS datastore, are not recopied.

@_gabriel is most likely right here, this seems like the disk was configured to be excluded from backup. Please post the last backups task log for this VM.

Made sure disks were included in backups. Ran backup job from PVE and VM disk was backed up! Not sure what happened before but everything seems to be working correctly now.

Thanks for help
