VM Grouping

If you are looking for folder like structure of resource pools that exists in ESXi/VCenter - it doesnt exist in PVE.

Resource Pool object in PVE is for administration:
https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/pve-admin-guide.pdf
Code:
A resource pool is a set of virtual machines, containers, and storage devices. It is useful for permission
handling in cases where certain users should have controlled access to a specific set of resources, as it
allows for a single permission to be applied to a set of elements, rather than having to manage this on a
per-resource basis. Resource pools are often used in tandem with groups, so that the members of a group
have permissions on a set of machines and storage.

Yes, pools work great and I use them all the time. You need to change the default setting from server view to pool view and then you're good to go. Once getting used to it, you will not use anything else. The server view, I only use if I explicitely want to check something on the server, my day-to-day work is only on the VM side of things.
