At the moment especially when playing a game on my win11 VM I cant go a few minutes without screen freezing for 3-7 secs at a time

I know when I first setup unraid with AMD CPU I had to disable C-STATES in boot config

My setup atm

CPU Ryzen 9 5950x

GPU AMD 7800xt 16gb (passed thru to win11 VM)

Mb Asus x570-plus with wifi

Ram 4 x 32gb ddr4 3200mhtz (running at 2133) have also tried 2 x16gb + 2 x 32gb (96gb total)

PSU Corssair 1000w (RM1000x)

Proxmox version atm 8.2.2

Has anyone solved this issue with amd?
I only notice on my win11pro VM with passthru gpu
I only tend to notice system freezes for may 2-6 seconds at a time, but not completely crashing needing a reboot, very frustrating atm
I have disabled c-states in bios
I have this line in my grub file
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet amd_iommu=on amd_idle.max_cstate=1 processor.max_cstate=1"

(I found during googling, which didn't make a difference)

My system was rock solid before I had to re-install proxmox, I may be missing something, can anyone with same problem with AMD and a possible solution help me please, driving me nuts

so in grub file I have following line to limit c-state to 1
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet amd_iommu=on processor.max_cstate=1"
and in crontab I have to maximise performance with p-states
@reboot echo "performance" | tee /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/scaling_governor

Anyone have these settings or something different???

I am having this same problem with an HP Z640, 2 x E5-2690 CPUs and 256G RAM. All diagnostics are passing.

I am reinstalling 8.1 from scratch, my system was rock solid on there
8.2 has been buggy since installing from scratch

once restored I will tesst vm by playing a gpu intense game and see if still freezes

I solved my issue, was a monitor issue, I had a game I was testing with set to 4k, but I didn't know it was set to 60hrtz where my monitor is limited to 30hrtz at 4k
