Hello guys, I decided to open this thread because I'm not finding a good solution to my problem.

First of all, I have installed proxmox VE 6.2 on a dedicated server of Hetzner trought installimage (Debian Buster) .
I have
1 dedicated ip ( 144.76.195.169 )
and a subnet /29 with 8 ips

What is my problem? Containers and vm cannot access the internet (neither ping 8.8.8.8)

On my Dedicated the configuration is the following:

On the container:

You need to bridge your ethernet adapter because he can not work as a switch:
For example:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

iface enp34s0 inet manual

auto vmbr0
iface vmbr0 inet static
address 78.xx.xx.111/27
gateway 78.xx.xx.97
bridge-ports enp34s0
bridge-stp off
bridge-fd 0

auto vmbr1
iface vmbr1 inet static
address 78.xx.xx.98/27
bridge-ports none
bridge-stp off
bridge-fd 0
post-up echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
post-down iptables -t nat -F

I think you need to order also virtual MAC Adresses from Hetzner.

Try if it work like this because I am also newbie in using Proxmox.

Good luck!

You need to understand that you have just 1 real Ethernetadapter which has his own MAC Adress and is listet in the MAC Address Table of your Gateway. Without having extra Virtual Mac Adresses from Hetzner it will not work. Because the Gateway will not stop to flood packages because he don't know your virtual MAC Addresses and this is only reason why you need to order also Virtual MAC Addresses from Hetzner.

But you can realize everything just with one public IP Address without spending more money. If you need help let me know,

For the use of additional single-IPs in bridged mode virtual MAC addresses need to requested. You can get a MAC address for your additional single IP through Robot. Simply login, select your server and then go to the "IPs" tab. Here you will see a small button next to the additional single IP address. Clicking on that button will give the IP address a virtual MAC.

Do I have to buy an IP failover?

Nobody spoke about Failover IP i can repeat my self. You need to buy Virtual Mac
Just follow the instruction i wrote you and it its going to work. If you have your Virtual Mac you can write me for your configuration.
