VLANs Above ~100 not working

Hey all, have a weird issue I'm trying to solve.

I have a switch that is trunking several VLANs to Proxmox, where only some are working. It seems that any VLAN above 100 isn't properly being seen by the VM. 100 works, but 255 or 200 do not.

For example, I have a VLAN of 255 which I could never get connected to the Proxmox VM, however by changing the VLAN number to 25, it worked right away.

I have done a fairly comprehensive search, and the only lead that I have is that a report of network links where the name is greater than ~15 characters isn't working, but I do not think that this is the reason here.

Check how much VLANs your NIC is supporting. Not ll NICs support the full VLANID range.

Mellanox Connect-X 3, I see a VLAN limit of 128 total VLANs, but nothing about any ranges allowed.
