Virtualize TrueNAS letting it see all my disks?!

The need for a better file sharing solution has arisen here at home. :)
I checked out Techno Tims YT where he virtualizes FreeNAS and under hardware he adds a PCI device, the LSI disk device.

Let me back up some... I am running Proxmox on a Dell PE R720, one ZFS Pool.
If I were to add the LSI controller to the VM, will it see my ZFS pool or just all the disks?

All disks that are attached to that LSI controller. And your PVE host won't have any access anymore to those disks. So you basically want a dedicated HBA just for the TrueNAS disks. You can then use those disks to create a ZFS pool inside your TrueNAS VM.
Also make sure your LSI controller isn`t a raid controller (or atleast that you an switch it to IT-mode/HBA mode). ZFS shouldn't be run on top of HW raid.

I tired it and Proxmox just crashed when I tried to start the VM. I have swapped the RAID card from the default 410 something to a föasjed card from Art of Server. It has been working flawlessly.
