Hello,

I try to virtualize a physical machine to proxmox.

I started on both computers Clonezilla. On the source I choosed "remote-source" and selected the harddisk to clone.
By the way, there is a software RAID (mdadm) file system. I am only able to select the sda or sdb disk, if I choose the md126 disk Clonezilla says following.

Code:
Source disk /dev/md126 does not have any partition. Clonezilla does not support this type if source disk.

/dev/md126: unrecognised disk label
.
.
.
Program terminated!.
'ocs-live-general" finished with error 1

I I try to clone sda or sdb (both disks from the software RAID 1), I am able to run the server but then the "remote-target" virtual machine on proxmox fails before starting the cloning process.

The tutorial here does not really help.

How can I virtualize a software raid machine to proxmox?

Is there a way to clone the booted machine to a proxmox VM (with dd for example)?

Just dd the disks. a 1:1 migration involves having raid 1 in side of the machine, or just one disk with a failed mdadm-partner.
You can use any live linux distro in order to get a "cold state" of your disks.

You need to change the VM afterwards if you want to deconfigure mdadm raid. Maybe it's easier to migrate only the files to a new VM, but that involves a lot of manual steps including configuring a bootloader manually.
