Virtual Network Interfaces for KVM and OpenVZ

Hi everybody,

i am looking for a way to create a virtual nic for both supported types. All i found so far, was a to use some sort of dummy driver to create a virtual nic for OpenVZ.

Is there a way to create one for both? In comparrison to Vmware vSwitch or Virtual Box Host-only device.

Hi Tom,

thanks for your quick reply. Do i get it right? If i do not assign a bridge to a vmbr device then i can have multiple of these e.g. vmbr0, vmbr1 ect. and have a virtual network? So, for instance that way, i can have a group of vm´s which will be in sepperate subnet?!
