I am trying to upgrade from ProxMox 7.x to 8.x. I tried to migrate all of the VMs to another machine in the cluster. However; one will not migrate. It stops with an error at the 27.8 GB. mark.

So, I tried to make a backup of the drive and it also stopped at th27.8 Gib mark. Here is the end of the backup log:

NFO: 42% (26.5 GiB of 63.0 GiB) in 6m 32s, read: 66.5 MiB/s, write: 65.6 MiB/s

How do I determine what is wrong at that point and fix it?

The error can depend on whether you are committing live backup, which storage the VM is located etc.
If it is running, try to stop the VM then perform the back. If you still see the error, then try to migrate the VM disk image to another location. If you see the error then, it would indicate a data corruption where the VM disk image resides at this moment.
