Hi, I have started using Ubuntu 23.10 in work last week. Has been using Windows about 25 years.
So I have Ubuntu as host on a pretty fast laptop with KVM and qemu.
Windows 10 is installed as guest.
I have installed VirtIO-Win-0.1.240 from CDROM ISO in windows without any problem.
I have used VMWare WorkStation before that have the features below,
So first problem is that Windows highest resolution is 2560 x 1440. My second external monitor have native resolution 3440 x 1440 ratio 21:9. My laptops screen resolution is 3456 x 2160 ratio 16:10.. As a result there is black borders on left and right. I cannot use the whole monitor in guest. But Ubuntu settings list my monitors correct. I have only this problem in Windows 10 guest. That's why I suspect a problem with driver.
Next problem is the clipboard sharing. It works to copy plain text between host and guest. But not files. No error messages.
Another problem is that I want to be able to read and write a an USB image as USB device on host. I have not managed to get this to work.
I realize I am a Linux newbie so there might be some simple and logical steps to fix it. But I have spent the last days with Googling and asked ChatGPT.
Hope this will get some progress with this post.
