[SOLVED] VE 8.0 / VM - Ubuntu 23.10 Desktop Does Not Get Past Login

I have created many different Linux VMs, never had issues. Just installed Ubuntu 23.10 Desktop and I enter the password. The prompt goes away for a few seconds and reappears with no error message. 23.04 works fine. The 23.10 image is good as I checked it and I installed it on a physical laptop. I downloaded again just to be sure. I have seen where others have successfully installed it.

Any ideas?

OK, I searched for hours and finally fixed this. I changed the display type to VMWare. It is interesting that 23.04 is fine with the default display and 23.10 is not?

Did you try changing the display type to VMWare?
