Hello All,

I am facing the problem to connect my ISCSI Dell storage. I have added the ISCSI device in Datacenter storage, after that i would like to add LVM with ISCSI stroage, but i got the error
"create storage failed: error with cfs lock 'file-storage_cfg': pvcreate '/dev/disk/by-id/scsi-36f01faf000e9cea8000088a65e6eb0ae' error: Cannot use device /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-36f01faf000e9cea8000088a65e6eb0ae with duplicates. (500)".

May i know any special setting if we need to connect the iscsi device in proxmox? Thank you.

Thank you. I just want to confirm what is the meaning of configuring iscsi outside of PVE. I have found below reference, but it seem the iscsi connect setting is same with to configure in PVE.

You can configure iSCSI "outside", so that PVE does not know that it is using iSCSI, it thinks, you're using LVM.

If you use iSCSI inside of PVE, you will (at least in the past, I have no current knowledge about this) only one path. The page you mentioned uses the "outside" approach in mentioning that you should setup LVM.
