VDI solution with Proxmox

Hello -

I'm looking to provide a large educational institute with a VDI solution for their Catia users. I'd like some guidance from the team, if this has been done earlier. I'm looking for a low cost VDI solution.
 
There is no VDI solution from Proxmox (the company) or in the product PVE, yet you can host whatever you want: Windows or some kind of Linux. In general, this is not limited to virtualization, yet if you do use virtualization, you can use PVE of course.

We had good experience with X2GO.
