EDIT: I finally got my search terms correct and found this very helpful gem!

Using local harddisk with existing data as storage

-----
I'm looking for some help with setting up Proxmox and I'm feeling a little stupid right now...

I'm moving my server to a new one that I got. The old one was just booted directly to Ubuntu Server with a secondary HDD mounted. This drive contains all of my data that I'm moving to a VM on my new proxmox server.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to mount the drive inside the VM I set up... This drive was not set up with any sort of virtual hard drive or anything. It's just data directly on the hard drive.

How might I get this data mounted into my VM using best practices?
