Used Shutdown button on web GUI - everything froze

Hello,

I am new here and I am just trying to get a hang of everything. Everything works nicely, but I had one issue happen just few days ago.

Ever since I set up Proxmox on my NUC, I have shut down the NUC twice - once via 'shutdown -h now' as root directly via keyboard on NUC; and second time I felt like using Shutdown button in web GUI as I was there at the time.

Shutting the NUC down via shell worked as expected, however when I pressed the Shutdown button in web GUI, the HDD LED on NUC went from on-every-now-and-then to basically always on and NUC wouldn't shut down even after 30 minutes of working like that. The web GUI was unresponsive and I hooked NUC to a monitor to try shut it down directly, but screen wouldn't show anything anymore. So I had no other option but to resort shutting the NUC by pressing the Power button for 3 seconds.
Few more shutdowns like that and the not-so-cheap SSD inside the NUC could be no more.

I am reluctant to use that damn button again, but does anyone have any idea what would cause the Proxmox to hang after pressing the shutdown button in web GUI?

Hi,

Can you please post the output of pveversion -v command and I would check if there is an interesting error message at the time when you pressed the Shutdown button in the PVE web UI?

Hello Moayad,

thank you very much for getting back to me and I apologize for not replying sooner.

I was in process of moving the server to another location, and it hasn't been turned on since that issue occurred. Until now.

This is the output I got when I ran the command you asked me to run:
