use of a real disk inside a VM.

Hi!
New to Proxmox, learning and having some fun..

But I have a big question. My setup is a Dell R710 with some SAS drive in raid as second drive and proxmox running on a 1TB SSD. The extra disk in raid is not used right now.

I wanted to run a TrueNAS VM that would use the real raid drive as the shared space into the network. This could be use by proxmox as the space for backup or other thing and at the same time I have a 100To disk at google that TrueNas can mount for another space available to the VM in proxmox and to proxmox. I have the 100To at google because I have a subscription to google workspace for non-profit.

I do all this to help a small ham radio federation with their IT service.

Could it be possible to do such setup?

Thanks for the answer, I had seen that message on truenas. But I wanted to be sure I was not missing something as this message is rather large on the hypervisor.

Since I am learning prooxmox, I was looking at proxmox specific stuff.

Since we have a kind of debian base distro behind proxmox, Could it be possible to just share the files internally to the VM from the hypervisor itself so that it is available to truenas?

Like a NFS share?
