Use different drives on same PBS config

Hey,

i setup a PBS with one 8tb drive in ZFS, pool called "backup1". Now in weekly intervals i want to swap this drive with another "backup2". So im writing backups one week to drive 1, one week to drive 2 and have the other as offsite storage of my backups.

In PBS i created ZFS "backup1" and configured all backup jobs with my PVE, everything works fine this way. Now i pulled out "backup1" and put in another drive, created a ZFS called "backup2" and it gets listed as available storage in PBS - Datastore. All backup jobs to this PBS machine fail though, since they want to write to "backup1". Is there a way to tell PBS to just use any "backupXYZ" drive for backups? Or another way to do this as pain free as possible? I just want to shutdown PBS, change drives, boot it up again and have it running again pretty much...or as close to this as i can get.

Thanks a lot :)

just use a single datastore (/set the same mountpoint for both pools)? note that such a scheme will break the dirty bitmaps each time you rotate the disks (the backup will work, but VMs will not benefit from the additional speedup for that one backup run).

you might also want to consider having an offsite PBS instance and syncing from the primary over the network - no disk rotation necessary in that case, and syncing is incremental and decoupled from the backup, so it can go slow and steady and doesn't need a super fast link once you have the initial datastore synced.

the steps I followed:
1.I labeled the tape with tape

2. loaded the tape into the media pool with the same name from the paper label

3. start backup

but I still get an error message:

2022-03-07T14:07:09+00:00: TASK ERROR: read label failed (please label all tapes first)
