USB Tethering for proxmox host

Hi guys,

I recently just set up a proxmox server and trying to update it so I am trying to give it an internet connection.
I have configured, ip link set up the interface and dhclient the interface, But unable to give the host an internet connection.
Afterwards, I tried attaching the interface to a bridge.
While attaching the bridge to a VM gave the VM internet connection, but I am trying to give the host.

Am I missing any other configurations?

the host DNS needs to be checked and may not be getting set via DHCP.
putting it on the bridge is fine, I assume it's also set for DHCP
