I am running a BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server) test bed on my Proxmox box, however need at times to connect the blackberry device via a USB port to activate it.

Are there any plans to implement USB support in future revisions?

Thanks great product...

KVM supports USB devices so we will also include this in Proxmox VE in one of the upcoming versions.

Excellent many thanks.... since iam new to this product, how often do you release updates roughly, so i can keep checking. Yes i know it's cheeky since this is free software.... On another note is there a way of contributing to your efforts via a donation?

Donation to Proxmox VE

you can expect a second beta in a few weeks, there is no fixed release cycle.

If you want to support the development you can donate here.

Maurer IT is delivering the test lab and test hardware for Proxmox VE. So your money goes directly to the project without any loss. If you agree, I will add you on a wiki page for donaters, just describe in short what you are doing with Proxmox VE.

I've made a small donation, sorry it could not be more, but hope to donate more as development progresses. Hope this is ok

Our company has a solution

Our company made the patch for Proxmox VE (0.9b2) to support usb devices under KVM.

As far as our company is using the media servers with hardware hasp dongles. The ability of using usb devices was the key condition for choosing the virtualization platform. For this reason we developed a small patch for using them.

We'll gladly provide it to community, but the source code on ftp (ftp://pve.proxmox.com/sources/) differs from current version of Proxmox VE. How can our developers interact with Proxmox VE to provide this and other patches?

Along those lines, are there long term plans to put proxmox ve in a publicly accessible version control system, like sourceforge.net or just like cvs or subversion hosted by you?
I can understand keeping the project close to the fold during the beat period, but after 1.0 is released it would be great to encourage more community development that way...

There are plans to open our svn repository after 1.0. But so far there are no external developers.
