USB broadband backup

We recently had an extended ADSL outage that caused significant problems.

We have a USB 3G modem that I would like to use if this occurs again.

How can this best be implemented?

Hi,

it dependence on what level you like to implement it?
Normally you do this on the Router.
If you like to do this on the PVE host, then here is a idea how you could do this.

We use a pfsense VM as the router.

You can use the usb dev in the pfsense VM.

pfsense can be picky with the usb modem be sure it is supported by pfsense.
