Hi,
we have a host with Proxmox 3.1.21. We would like to upgrade hardware of host and Proxmox.
is there any best practise or any recommendations? during an upgrade i would like to keep all VMs.
How i see the process:
- shutdown all VMs
- move all vhdd files to temporary storage (with configuration files if it is possible)
- add new hardware (HDD, RAM)
- install new Proxmox 4.2 (with a new configuration of RAID)
- move back all vhdd files
- create new VM with existing vhdd and configuration files
is it possible to perform last step: create a new VM in new Proxmox using vhdd from older Proxmox version?
thank you!
