Hi,

We have a customer currently running Proxmox VE 8.x who would like to upgrade to Proxmox VE 9.2.1 instead of the latest available 9.x release due to compatibility requirements with their Veeam Backup & Replication environment.

We would like to know:
  1. Is there a supported upgrade path from Proxmox VE 8.x directly to 9.2.1?
  2. Are the 9.2.1 packages still available from the official Proxmox repositories, or would an upgrade always install the latest 9.x version?
  3. If 9.2.1 is no longer available through the official repositories, is there a supported method to install or pin that specific version?
Thank you.

Hi @powersupport ,
This topic has been discussed recently over here: https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/u...-4-x-to-9-1-veeam-related.185270/#post-862853

The answers to your questions are:
1, No
2. Not sure if older packages are available - you can query the repo for a list. The upgrade with "apt" will always get the latest.
3. There is no supported method. You can "pin" the version by not upgrading the packages.

Cheers
