Hi, a while back I was able to do this, but cannot any longer due to 'no release file' for buster, so guessing the sources/debs have been removed? Its the first part, going from 6.3-9 to 6.4 that I'm stuck with. I know you can use the pve6to7 method from 6.4 onwards. Any way to get around this without doing a fresh install? I know they're older versions and I don't want to stay on that version, so I'm trying to move off of it to at least 8, but can't do this part. Using this in sources.list.d/nopvesub.list:

Code:
deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian/pve buster pve-no-subscription

Have those been archived somewhere? Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum!

You're lucky, Proxmox recently released an archive mirror which comes in handy for your "usecase":

http(s)://archive.proxmox.com/debian/pve

Add that repository to your sources and you should be able to finish what you're trying to accomplish.

Thanks, I'll check it out in the morning.

There are so many modifications in changed subsystems from Debian Buster --> Bullseye --> Bookworm --> Trixie.

While I do have some systems (not PVE) which were upgraded from Stretch to now I would choose to create a new install and restore VMs from backup. This seems easier to me - and then the base system smells fresh and new :-)

If you do the upgrade sequence please report back if that went flawlessly - it would be interesting.

Just my two €¢!

my oldest cluster have been updated from pve4->5->6>7>8>9 without any reinstall ;)
We're close. 5>9 is our "oldest" but very well maintained.
