So i have a cluster with ceph, version 6.

I saw in the forum announcement this :
FAQ
Q: Can I dist-upgrade Proxmox VE 6.0 to 6.1 with apt?
A: Yes, just via GUI or via CLI with apt update && apt dist-upgrade

So i should just run this on every node and thats it ?

Im guessing shutdown all the vms, run that on every node, and reboot every node right ?

Hi,
yes that is basically it. But why shutdown the VMs? You can live migrate them to different nodes and upgrade/reboot one node at a time. Also backups are a must have!

Chris,

how can one update from the GUI? I searched but couldn't find anything.

Thank you!

Thank you, that works.

I thought there would be a different update button to update releases, since I've always used this button to do the regular incremental updates.

Normally a manual intervention is only necessary for releases with major version increment, e.g. from 5 to 6. Anyways it is always recommended to read the release notes. You can find them here https://forum.proxmox.com/forums/announcements.7/
