I have an old Proxmox 3.2-3 box that I would like to upgrade to 4.2 and was wondering if the easiest way may be to:

1. Copy VM Backup files from /var/lib/dump/XXXXXX.gz to my laptop
2. Wipe machine and install Proxmox 4.2
3. Copy VM Backup files back to /var/lib/dump with 'root' priv's
4. Restore VMs using same VMID

Any gotchas or nuances I should be worried about?

Thanks!
