Dear forum,

I am running fine a Proxmox VE 2.0 RC1 (2.0-27) Cluster, using two HP ML110 G5, using LVM (DRBD-mirrored) for VM-storage.
The RC-version only because it is for testing @home.

How can I upgrade from 2.0 RC1 to 2.1?
I only found the procedure for 1.9 to 2.1 ...

Thank you for your amazing job!

BR,
lousek

just 'aptitude update && aptitude full-upgrade'. make sure you have a valid backup as no-one here tested this recently.

Thanks for your fast answer!

Is there anywhere written which folder (configuration files ...) I have to backup for proxmox?

I will do the upgrade and write down the problems (hopefully none).

backup your VMs. and maybe /etc

Good evening,

I have done the upgrade now ...

Conclusion: It worked without problems, except that live migration failed (see below)

1. Migrate all (running) VMs from 2nd host to 1st -> All migrations ended with "TASK OK", no problems occured
2. Run aptitude update && aptitude full-upgrade on 2nd host
3. Reboot 2nd host
4. Migrate all (running) VMs from 1st to 2nd host -> PROBLEM: All migrations ended with "TASK OK", VMs were successfully migrated, BUT, one second later, the VM is beeing stopped on new host ... maybe problem because of different versions? Log below ...
5. Repeat steps 2 & 3 for 1st host
6. Migrate all (running) VMs back to origin place -> All migrations ended with "TASK OK", no problems occured

Any idea for this problem?

But now everything is working fine again - thank you again for your great work!
