Please take notice that I'm writing this post with my middle fingers!

Earlier today I started updating my hyperconverged pve6 cluster. Family was gone, so I should have plenty of time, OR SO I THOUGHT.

I read the update remarks TWICE and updated the local apt cache, in order to have every package locally. The same for Ceph, since there now also is a bullseye repo for Ceph Octopus, HOW CONSIDERATE!

Then the fun began ...
apt update && apt -y dist-upgrade and then waiting. OR SO I THOUGHT.

The whole magic was gone in FIVE MINUTES per node. And most of the time the installer waited for me to opt for already installed conf files. The ONLY time I had to actually use my head was when I had to decide upon the default grub config.

And then the SAME disappointment went on with the Ceph upgrade. That didn't even differ from any other Ceph upgrade I had ever done. WHAT THE HECK?

I only filled the time until the family came back with some unnecessary VM updates and stuff.
THIS WAS ON OF THE MOST (UN)SATISFYING AND UNINTERRUPTED UPGRADES EVER, FFS.

You may have gotten it. It was smooth.
Congratulations to all the developers and thanks for the great documentation! With an experience like this I hope for many more upgrades to come! ;)
