Hi,
what happens with address verification database (AVD) when a previously existing email address is deleted on the mail server?
How long does it take for the AVD to notice this?
I don't want to delete full AVD, I just want to remove a previously existing recipient from this database to reject mails.

Regards,
Thomas

Address verification in PMG is handled by postfix - so the docs apply:
https://www.postfix.org/ADDRESS_VERIFICATION_README.html

for the duration of caching see the verify(8) manpage:
https://www.postfix.org/verify.8.html

In my experience deleting/discarding the verification cache is not too heavy on the system - for each address one further
probe is sent to the downstream server and then it's added to the case - this is nothing that should be too expensive

I hope this helps!

The problem here is to know IF any user has deleted a mailbox. If you don't know this discarding doesn't help.
