Unraid VM img to Proxmox help

I have been running VMs on Unraid for many many years, however I've recently needed to change the way I do things and have some servers at my disposal. I've setup proxmox and would like to use it to run and manage my VMs instead of unraid. I am using seabios and have matched the machine time when setting up a proxmox VM. I copied the unraid VM img file over to a directory/share that proxmox has access to now and it shows up under ISOs when selecting an image for the OS.

When I try to start up the VM is basically says in VNC that boot failed and then it progresses to pxe boot. I have the "CD/DVD" media which is where proxmox wants the ISO as 1 on the boot order.

I have tried renaming the .img file to .raw, as another post has suggested, however then I can't select the image as it does not show up as .raw doesn't seem to show up when selecting an ISO.

I'm sure it is something simple, but this is fairly unfamiliar territory for me. I'd post additional information, but not quite sure what else to post without blindly posting random information. Let me know and I can get it. I appreciate any assistance and anyone taking a look.

Are your VMs on Unraid all
  1. run from Live ISO images or
  2. installed on virtual disks?
If 2 then you do not need the CD/DVD or ISO storage overview. Instead, you should for each Unraid VM
  1. Create a VM in Proxmox VE using the GUI
  2. Directly remove the initial disk, you don't need it anymore
  3. Use qm importdisk to add the .raw disk files to your VM
  4. Change boot order
There is no specific section about Unraid in the Migration Guide, but it should give you an idea of how qm importdisk works.

Thank you very much! I ended up doing something similar to that to get a windows VM moved. I'll try this specific method for a linux install I have as well.
