I just want to start with some context in that I am brand new to proxmox, I am looking at a proxmox server that I inherited yesterday. This morning the single VM in the proxmox server had a disk failure. I tried rebooting the proxmox server from the web console, but the server never came back up. I connected up a monitor to the physical device and found it in emergency mode waiting for the root password. The key error seems to be the system timing out waiting for a dev-disk-by device, resulting in the /data and local file systems dependency to fail. Looking at the journal, the device is listed as failed.
I am not sure where to go with this. Is this .device a physical disk?
