Hi,
correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you are using a old version of the app.
Could you try it again with an up to date version and see if that works?
I understand how frustrating it can be to get stuck at the 2FA validation screen. Here are a few steps that might help resolve the issue:
Ensure System Time is Synced
Two-factor authentication relies on time-based OTPs. If your device’s clock is even slightly out of sync, the codes may not work. Ensure your phone and the Proxmox server are synchronized with a reliable time server (e.g., NTP).
Try a Different Browser or Clear Cache
If you’re using the mobile interface, certain browsers may cause issues with 2FA. Try accessing it from a different browser or clear the cache of the current one.
Check Your Authenticator App
If you're using an authenticator app like Google Authenticator, ensure it's generating the correct codes.
Alternatively, consider switching to an authenticator app that supports multi-device sync, such as Authenticator, to avoid such issues in the future.
Fallback or Recovery Codes
When you set up 2FA, Proxmox usually provides recovery codes. If you still have access to these, use them to log in and reset your 2FA settings.
Access via Command Line
If you can’t access the GUI, try disabling 2FA temporarily via the command line. You can do this by accessing your Proxmox server and modifying the configuration for your user. Be cautious and re-enable it once resolved.
Check for Proxmox Updates
If this is a bug in the latest Proxmox version (8.0.4), ensure your system is fully updated or check the Proxmox forum for any related patches or fixes.
I hope one of these solutions helps. Let us know how it goes!
