[SOLVED] Unable to use VLAN tagging on Proxmox

I have installed Proxmox 6 and want to set0-up the Proxmox with VLAN tagging. The example configuration on the wiki did not work, the configuration which I already tried can be found below:

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

iface eno1 inet manual

auto vmbr0.3043
iface vmbr0.3043 inet static
address 192.168.0.102
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.0.1

auto vmbr0
iface vmbr0 inet manual
bridge-ports eno1
bridge-stp off
bridge-fd 0
bridge-vlan-aware yes

If I create a bond interface with eno1 and eno2 it's working:

iface bond0 inet manual
slaves eno1 eno2
bond_miimon 100
bond_mode 802.3ad
bond_xmit_hash_policy layer3+4
bond-miimon 100
bond-mode 802.3ad

auto bond0.3043

So my question is what am I missing to get eno1 work with VLAN tagging?

Hi,

you mix two different technics in the first config.
VLAN aware means that the bridge handles VLANs, but you create another bridge that is a VLAN device.
This does not work. Instead, you should create a VLAN dev

    address 192.168.100.1/24
    vlan-id 100
    vlan-raw-device vmbr0

Unfortunately, still not working. If I execute the following command:

ip r

It's returning nothing

I forgot to mention it. The switch port is in trunk mode and does not have a native VLAN and only accepts tagged traffic.

Try to add this at the bridge section

bridge-vids 2-4094

after applying use this command.

bridge vlan vmbr0

Command "vmbr0" is unknown, try "bridge vlan help"
