Unable to use Intel i350 NIC with proxmox

Hi, I have a system with 2.5gig port on board (works perfectly), I added a Intel nic (i350-t4) but the issue is that, I am not able to get an IP address from my router whenever I plug a cable in, the cable lights either on nic side or switch side don't turn on. I have tried configuring the nic as written in the documentation by creating a Linux bridge, after doing everything correctly in the /etc/network/interfaces file too , I am not able to get an IP on it.
I have checked the nic is working in windows 10 machine and also on a Ubuntu desktop machine, both just plug and play.
Also I have checked the card that I have, it it's orignal, apparently it's the first step to diagnose any problem with i350 nics
Also tried moving network card in physical pcie ports... Didn't help.

Have you tried this:

After Proxmox has finished installing, add these lines to '/etc/modules':

vfio
vfio_iommu_type1
vfio_pci
vfio_virqfd

- After changing anything modules related, you need to refresh your initramfs.
On Proxmox VE this can be done by executing:

# update-initramfs -u -k all

- reboot host (maybe twice)

I tried this and some other stuff too this works but the connection is not stable, sometimes it connects and sometimes it randomly disconnects. Any idea why?

Maybe try kernel 6.2 instead of 5.x. Or vice versa.

Maybe you want to share your /etc/network/interfaces?
Here the i350-T4 v1 worked perfectly fine with all PVE6.X and PVE7.X versions.

What kernel version do you run. I read somewhere in this forum that older kernel version have support for specific nics.

Bad UTP cables? Have you checked/replaced those already?
