Unable to set hostname for newly created vm
I expect to set the appropriate hostname via webui Options>Name. Unfortunately this doesnt reflect on the vms hostname. This was working solution to change vm name + vm hostname in proxmox 7 but now it doesn't work.

Addition details for test setup:
- Single node Proxmox: Virtual Environment 8.1.3
- Test has been done with debian and rocky vms on neither of them hostname changed when any modification via webui has been done.

Hello I have tested with both cloud-init and netinstall image for debian distro, also cloud-init rocky distro and on all of them there is no way to change the hostname into the vm via proxmox web-ui. Does anyone has such a problem with proxmox 8 ? I managed to change the hostname via cloud-init but this is not what i need, i want to change hostname even for none cloud-init images via web-ui.

The hostname inside the VM is usually (always?) changed from inside the VM (manually or via cloud-init). Very much like the IP and DNS configuration. This is different from containers, where IP, DNS and hostname are set from Proxmox.
