unable to see all the CT in one nodes after delete rm -rf /etc/pve/nodes/vmserver2

Dear all,

We have 2 nodes in a cluster namely VM1 and VM2.

VM1 is the master.

I need to relocate VM2 server to another psyhical location and was trying to denode VM2 from the cluster.

Following instruction on the web, on the VM1 master

# pvecm delnode VM2

when I login to the web manager of Vm1 , I still can see VM2 and all CT.


So I try to remove the config file, on Vm1

root@VM1:/# rm -rf /etc/pve/nodes/vm2

Damn, this mess up, I cannot longer see all my CT on Vm2 via the web manager. I login to both Vm1 and Vm2 web manager and I cannot see or manage the CT of Vm2 anymore.

Lucky, the CTs are still running and not delete.

Is there a way, I can rebuild the config file of the CTs in Vm2.

in pve2/3 isn't one host master and the other slaves!

With only one node, you lost your quorum. A two node cluster isn't the best idea!

The official way is to backup your VMs, reinstall one host without creating an cluster and restore the VMs.

But you can search in the forum - there was some postings about breaking a cluster.
