I was attempting to install proxmox 8.1 on an old laptop I had lying around (Acer Aspire 3 A315-21) and i encountered an issue after installing causing a kernel panic which says "Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)". I'm still capable of booting into the server through the rescue boot option with my proxmox install USB. I've reinstalled proxmox to no avail. My filesystem is ext4. Any help is appreciated I'm willing to answer questions if needed.

I ended up installing an older version of proxmox and no longer got the kernel panic. Might be able to update proxmox or something later.

EDIT: not sure how to close these threads so someone close this or something
