So I have a small cluster with ceph installed, all nice and dandy.
I've configured a couple of weeks ago a few other PVE's to use that Ceph cluster... but now I want to add new servers and nothing happens.
I've read the docs and from other blog posts and i'm stuck.

Steps done on working and non-working servers:
1. create the dedicated pool for the remote-server on the main-ceph-cluster
2. copy the ceph.client.admin.keyring from main-ceph-cluster:/etc/pve/priv/ to remote-server:/etc/pve/priv/<dedicated-pool>.keyring
3. add the rbd in Datacenter->Storage with id, pool, mons, etc. Setup is identical on servers that mount successfully the rbd pools.

On some third party docs they state that you should copy also the /etc/ceph/ceph.conf from main cluster to the remote server.
Also on some 3rd party docs say that you should add on the remote server in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ceph.list with the octopus/pacific repo

All servers are on the same lan, mons are reachable.
main-ceph-cluster is pve7-2
remote-server is pve6-4

Any ideas ?

I'm following:
https://knowledgebase.45drives.com/kb/kb450244-configuring-external-ceph-rbd-storage-with-proxmox/
https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Storage:_RBD. (here the pvesm example is outdated)

seems that pvestatd is messed up

after restarting the service the pool works almost properly - i can add disks in it but total available storage is not displayed.
