unable to locate package lshw

I get an error when I type "apt install lshw" in my proxmox console.


Would anyone be able to help me?

For me it is in "main":

~# apt policy lshw
lshw:

Which repositories are configured on your system? And did you run "apt update" in beforehand?

Please post the output (in [CODE]-tags) of the command from above and from this:

 head -n-0 /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*

Your DNS (or your gateway which DNS relies on) is not working.

What is the output of ip route?
Can you ping 8.8.8.8?
What is the output of cat /etc/resolv.conf?

Just for the record: in August I was still using Bullseye. Meanwhile I am on Bookworm = PVE Version 8 and "lshw" is still present in "main":

So..., as long as you have outbound connectivity and DNS does do it's job, it should be installable.

Now it works just fine.
I did not set up my DNS properly. A typo had my going nuts and I had to come back with your advice to be able to see it.
