Hi All,

i am trying to install a web based application called eBox 1.2 and I am unable to finish the installation properly.

The logfile is showing that the installation is looking for a module called dahdi which is a module used by Asterisk and not eBox.

i have a couple of KVM Asterisk distros installed on the proxmox server, could that be causing any issues?

is it possible that there is some sort of interaction between KVM guests?

thanks

I don´t think so, try asking in the ebox community about this issue.

I tried to install eBox 1.2 on a Xen server and had the same issue. It seems that the CDROM becomes unmounted after the first boot. I had to make sure using Xen GUI that the DVD is pointing to the .iso file before rebooting. For some reason it was showing DVD "Empty"

The same must be happening with Proxmox, during installation and after the first reboot the DVD points to "Empty". So I will try again and see how can I make sure that the DVD is still pointing to the localy stored ISO file.

any pointers on how to do that are appreciated.

Cheers

no I got it. they really use a strange system. after the first installation step is finished the eject the cd - and after reboot they need the cd again - maybe they should look on our installer technology :-)

so the solution is the following:

  • wait till the installation step 1 is finished and the ebox reboots
  • on the Proxmox VE web interface, stop the VM
  • go the hardware tab and apply the ISO again
  • now start the VM, it will boot from the hard disk and access to the ISO is here
