Unable to create LVM from iscsi connection?

I've created the LUN and connected Proxmox to my Dell PowerVault MD3200i, but when I try to create the LVM, it won't populate the LUN in the Base Volume section. What am I doing wrong that it won't pass the LUN through as a volume? I'm brand new to Proxmox, so little bit lost. Have been trying to follow the guide on setting up multipath, but it want's me to add the volume so I can get the wwid but the volume never shows up?

What do you mean you connected LUN to Proxmox? Can you actually see this LUN, or did you mean that you finished the expected SAN configuration?

What is the context of your "/etc/pve/storage.cfg" ?
What is the output of "pvesm status" ?
What is the output of "pvesm list [iscsi-storage-name]" ?
What about "lsscsi" ? (may need to be installed)

Sorry, what I meant by connected LUN to proxmox, is I've connected the PowerVault to Prox and they're both able to see each other, but the LUN isn't visible

Here is the output requested:

/etc/pve/storage.cfg:
Code:
dir: local
        path /var/lib/vz
        content backup,iso,vztmpl

lvmthin: local-lvm
        thinpool data
        vgname pve
        content rootdir,images

lvmthin: storage
        thinpool storage
        vgname storage
        content images,rootdir
        nodes pve

So, from what I can tell, it's trying to connect repeatedly over the same interface? but I'm not sure why it's trying to do that...and I cant finish the multipath setup because it wants the WWID of the LUN but I can't see the LUN to continue, so I'm completely lost :/

Sorry, I'm still learning all the different terminology and Proxmox

I'd start by logging out and deleting all sessions and nodes that exist, then rebooting the host and seeing if a clean machine is behaving better.

Hmm, this was after deleting all sessions and iscsi config and redoing it, but the one step I hadn't done was reboot the proxmox host, do you think that will really have any effect on it?

It's hard to properly diagnose 3rd party storage over the forum. Especially without knowing the entire history of changes. We've seen iSCSI daemon get very confused. The iSCSI login portion is standard Linux stuff and as such subject to standard Linux iSCSI troubleshooting. Perhaps Dell has some suggestions.

Update for anyone in the future....

I solved this, 1 of the iscsi controller modules had a bad battery. Finally received the replacement battery, and was then able to update firmware on the controllers. After that, it worked first time trying to add the storage...so, was something in the firmware on the actual storage array
