I'm new to Proxmox. I just installed it on my laptop. My home network is utilizing a TP-Link Deco mesh WIFI system.

I am connected to my Deco via ethernet.

My default gateway is 192.168.68.1.

My DHCP Leases are being assigned from 192.168.68.100 - 192.168.68.250.

I have attempted to do an installation of proxmox where I set a MAC reservation within TP-Link
to get IP: 192.168.68.140

That didn't work. So, I removed the reservation. I then decided to reinstall proxmox using an IP
that precedes the DHCP lease table. I've tried IP's of x.x.x.3, x.x.x.4, x.x.x.5, and x.x.x.6

I can't really see where additional installs with other IP assignments is going to do anything differently.

It is also worth pointing out that I confirmed the ethernet cable works by using it to hardwire connect another computer a moment ago, and that machine has Internet access with WIFI disabled.

Any thoughts?

Proxmox does not use DHCP after installation. You'll need to configure that yourself in /etc/network/interfaces and maybe you need to install a DHCP client.

I don't understand why something like 192.168.68.1.3 (with netmask 255.255.255.0 and gateway 192.168.68.1) would not work, and why you could not connect to https://192.168.68.3:8006/ afterwards, sorry,.

You need to provide actual output from your installation. Things like:
- ip a
- cat /etc/network/interfaces
- if using windows workstation: ipconfig /all

ok, you seem to be in the right range
what about the the other output? Some take a photo from screen, others are able to pipe the output to a text file on usb drive and transfer it over. The two remaining commands are critical
