Hello everyone,

I am new to Proxmox and I have recently installed it on VirtualBox. I am trying to create a Linux virtual machine (VM) within Proxmox, but I'm encountering an issue with network connectivity.

Here are the details of my setup:

  • Host: VirtualBox running
  • Proxmox version: [6.4.4]
  • VM OS: Linux [ubuntu-18.04-desktop-amd64]
I have set up the network in VirtualBox with the following settings:

  • Network Adapter: Bridge Adapter
  • Wireless Adapter
However, when I start the Linux VM, it does not detect any network connection. It shows that there is no connection available.

I would appreciate any guidance or suggestions on how to troubleshoot and resolve this issue. How can I enable Wi-Fi connectivity for the Linux VM within Proxmox installed on VirtualBox?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Thank you for your previous response and suggestions. I managed to start the Proxmox VM successfully after configuring NAT.

However, I encountered a new issue where I am unable to access the Proxmox web interface at https://ip:8009 after enabling NAT.
Wifi should be avoided and you need NAT as you can't bridge a wifi interface. Should be the same problem, but even more complex because of nested virtualization, as described here:

Thank you for your previous response and suggestions. I managed to start the Proxmox VM successfully after configuring NAT.
