Hi all,

I followed the upgrade guide https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Upgrade_from_8_to_9 closely and everything worked until the reboot.

pve8to9 suggested after the upgrade to remove systemd-boot which I did.
After that I wanted to reboot into the new kernel, but the server is unable to boot now.

Error is :

When trying one of the other options under "Advanced options" (Rescue Mode/Other kernels) the error is:

I also tried booting the PVE9 Iso and starting the rescue mode from there, but I get the error:

Can anyone help what I could to to bring the server back to life?

Best regards,
Alex

Regarding the hadware its an HPE DL360 Gen11 Server and Proxmox is installed on the HPE NS204i-u Gen11 Boot Controller

That guy had the same error and resolved it by removing a 2nd NVME that wasn't used for booting.
Maybe my issue is similar as the HPE Boot controller consists of two NVMEs allthough they are working as a raid1. Problems is I can't really remove one of them :/

Update:
With the 8.4 ISO I was able to boot the rescue mode and Promox started. So i got everything running for now until the next reboot.

Does anyone have suggestions how to fix the system to be able to boot without the Proxmox 8.4 ISO?

Thanks in advance,
Alex
