Please advice us to resolve this issue

Hey,

could you post the output of
Code:
ls -lah /datastore
ls -lah /datastore/inpx
ls -lah /datastore/inpx/vm
ls -lah /datastore/inpx/vm/158

Hi,

Here is the output; please check:

ls -lah /datastore

Please advice us to resolve this issue

Thank you

Code:
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4.0K Jun 27 2023 vm
/datastore/inpx/vm seems to be owned by root, but the backup user should be the owner. Did you manually copy or move things around lately?

chown -R backup:backup /datastore/inpx should solve the problem.

We have run the command chown -R backup:backup /datastore/inpx,

but the backup is still not working, and the same error persists.

Could you please help resolve this issue?

Thank you.

Good morning. May be you are under pressure, but... this is a user supported forum. We (you) do not pay for support. For professional support you may look at https://shop.proxmox.com/index.php?rp=/store/proxmox-ve-standard

I am with @Hannes Laimer in #4. After "chown", did the owner change to "backup" in ls -lah /datastore/inpx? (You didn't show the output...)

Then please post the complete output of that failing backup task.

Best regards

Here is the results of it

root@px-sg1-bu3:~# ls -lah /datastore/inpx
total 1.1M
drwxr-xr-x 4 backup backup 4.0K Jun 9 00:03 .
drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 4.0K Sep 19 2023 ..
drwxr-x--- 1 backup backup 1.1M Jun 27 2023 .chunks
-rw-r--r-- 1 backup backup 286 Jun 9 00:03 .gc-status
-rw-r--r-- 1 backup backup 0 Jun 27 2023 .lock
drwxr-xr-x 18 backup backup 4.0K Jun 9 00:00 vm

Then here is the complete output of falling backup task

Well, unfortunately I am not sure what this means. If it was me I would run a Prune and a Garbage Collection from PBS - even though this probably won't help.

Does the folder "inpx/.chunks/bb9f/" exist? As far as I know it should have been created when the datastore was initialized. But then there was this "wrong owner" problem...? "ls .chunks/" should list 65536 folders owned by "backup:backup" - as you already did the "chown -R" thing...

If the datastore is empty you might go back to square one, formally remove that datastore in PBS and recreate it.

Perhaps some else has a better idea on how to proceed, sorry.
