So, each Ubuntu release, beginning with 24.10, will ship with the latest upstream kernel.
They've actually got a quite complex process for figuring out which version of the kernel that actually is, but I know that Proxmox's major releases track Ubuntu's LTS release kernels, which are then modified by the Proxmox devs.
I'm curious how this news impacts Proxmox development. The more I've gotten into PCIe passthrough, the more I'm realizing how much PVE's kernel version matters.
