Hi,

i just installed proxmox mail gw on a esxi with two network cards.

network a is connected to the internet, network b is connected to the internal network where the exchange systems are.

the public interface is working, i can ping, ssh and enter the webinterface.

i added the second interface on in /etc/network/interfaces as eth1 and i was able to ping the systems.

but i cannot connect on port 25. how can i get it?

you just need one NIC, a setup with 2 NIC´s is not supported. the gateway uses different ports for incoming and outgoing SMTP, see deployment guide.

currently i have to following situation:

<postfix with mailscanner/public IP and private IP> <Exchange System with private IP only>

now i have to send all mails over the public network to the spam gateways, because you support only one nic?

you talk about incoming or outgoing email?

just use your firewall to direct the smtp to right ip/ports.

in the current solution, the incoming traffic was accepted on the public ip nic, scanned and moved to the exchange servers using the private ip nic. same thing about sending from exchange to the gateways.

now i want to do this with proxmox

and ldap queries has to be done trough public network too (in my case)

out of topic:
why do you need LDAP queries? take a look at "Receiver Verification" in our deployment guide - maybe you are just looking for this.
