Turn off authentication

Can I turn off the authentication for the web gui so that it always login with the user root. So no login screen just continue and login with root.

The reason why I'm asking is because I have a test setup where I don't want to login every time. Yes I know the risks ;-)

I was looking at PAM to do this but this will not work because you still have to fill in the root user.

Is there anyway of accomplishing this?

Password-Managers exist for a reason. Or for two: security and convenience. Do yourself a favour and get used to use one. My personal recommendation: look for Bitwarden.

This way you can have strong passwords everywhere and do not need to type them in by yourself - if you do not wish to...

Yes, there's also Bitwarden-RS a fast and small Server for Bitwarden. Works great since a year or so with updates.
