main question is did I set the DNS correctly if it won't connect the web interface??
can skip to the bottom

i set my domain name but added the subdomain or whatever
not sure if the subdomain can just be written as anything or have to register it in some registrar settings
i set the DNS in Proxmox GUI install to the router gateway, and set gateway IP same
set the local static IP of proxmox device
set the correct network interface...didn't show up the correct IP range...whatever the 3rd set of number is called.

DNS had been set on localhost 127.0.0.1 but as i said i set these to gateway router, and the device IP i set
installing from a kinda old microsd card so it's slow
prefer not to reinstall just to change the setting
i just gotta figure the command line now that it's booted

i logged in. hopefully that's ok.
it says to load the IP and port on a web browser
it fails to connect

so i'm asking do i need to adjust DNS or something? i can give hardware spec of the device or router

Hey,

could you post the output of ip a and ip r, can you ping the router from your PVE instance? Your DNS settings shouldn't really matter for now, since you're trying to connect using the IP directly.

IP r

Default via 192.168.50.1 dev vmbr0 proto kernel onlink

192.168.50.0/24 dev vmbr0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.50.186

I'm on my phone
Trying to get picture for IP A

Router pings fine

ok i tried loading from another computer instead of phone
it gives some SSL warning but it loads and logs in
says Not Secure

but then this popup
You do not have a valid subscription for this server. Please visit www.proxmox.com to get a list of available options.

ok i put this to Shell
sed -i.backup -z "s/res === null || res === undefined || \!res || res\n\t\t\t.data.status.toLowerCase() \!== 'active'/false/g" /usr/share/javascript/proxmox-widget-toolkit/proxmoxlib.js && systemctl restart pveproxy.service

i tried putting these to Shell
command not found
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
pre-up iptables -N DOCKER-USER; iptables -I DOCKER-USER -j ACCEPT
oh it's a textfile to edit
nano /etc/network/interfaces

next step
root@proxmox01:~# zfs create -o mountpoint=/var/lib/docker rpool/docker-root
cannot create 'rpool/docker-root': no such pool 'rpool'

i'm trying to fix that by what's mentioned here:
https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/failed-to-import-pool-rpool.29942/
root@proxmox01:~# zpool import -aN -d /dev/disk/by-id -o cachefile=none
no pools available to import
root@proxmox01:~# zfs list -t all
no datasets available

maybe i just need to find a different setup guide

i gotta understand ZFS a bit
root@proxmox01:~# zfs create -o mountpoint=/var/lib/docker mypool/docker-root
cannot create 'mypool/docker-root': no such pool 'mypool'

i found a bunch of guides but they're for VM or LXC and CT
just wanting to make sure i do this correctly
i see there's a menu on WEBUI for create ZPOOL

but instead of /dev/sda1
or so
it seems the storage is listed as NVME such
nvme0
nvme0n1
nvme0n1p1
nvme0n1p2

this one says RAIDZ but i'm not sure what to change it to

the youtubes i found were for LXC
gonna check this one next

i was hoping this would just be run a couple lines of code and have a GUI for everything else
hopefully can finish installing soon
or understand it better
